March 8, 2017 at 7pm
Adults: $35

Running time: 75 minutes

Born in Acadia, Marie-Jo grew up in Moncton, Canada. The history of her ancestors is that of thousands of Francophones expelled by the British during the Great Upheaval (1750-1780), and whose fate is recounted in the song “Evangeline,” which tells the story of two lovers separated by the Acadian deportation, but united by their love. Trained in classical piano, Mary-Jo discovered singing as a teen. In 1994, a producer offered her her first record deal (Comme de la musique 1995). In 1996, at the Francofolies in Montreal, she was the first recipient of the Félix Leclerc Award. As an actress, she has participated in several musicals (Les MisérablesNotre Dame de Paris).

Her latest album, Trois petits tours d’automne, was released in 2014. Marie-Jo lives with her husband between Montreal, Paris, and Costa Rica.
